Jovie Goat is not suitable for children with a confirmed cow milk protein allergy. Differences excist between the protein composition of goat milk and cow milk, however, an allergic reaction may still occur. Luckily, a confirmed cow milk protein allergy only occurs in about 3% of the infant population. A much larger group experiences a sensitive response when drinking cow milk. Since every child is different, we advice to consult your healthcare provider about your child's symptoms and to discuss your goat milk feeding options.
Jovie Goat is not suitable for children with a diagnosed lactose intolerance. Lactose is the naturally occuring carbohydrate in human breastmilk, which is why we choose to use lactose in our Jovie Goat milk products too. If your child is sensitive for lactose or cow milk, we advice to consult your health care provider about your child's symptoms and to discuss your goat milk feeding options.
It is not necessary to throw away your just opened or unopened tins when your baby turns 6 months old. You can safely use the Infant Milk for a while after your baby has reached 6 months of age. You can always consult your health care professional for further advice.
Jovie Goat is certified organic according the european organic legislations - we only use the best goat milk; goats can graze outside, are additionally fed with non-gmo feed which is organic certified and grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilizer.
Just like all infant formula's in Europe, Jovie has to comply to very strict regulations regarding the absence of hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and other contaminants. Jovie takes it a step further; we work with organic milk, and our goats have only been fed non-gmo feed.
Jovie Goat Organic is carefully formulated using full fat goat milk as its no. 1 ingredient, using all its inherent benefits. The richness of goat milk takes away the need to add undesired ingredients – such as palm oil – to make a complete formula. Maltodextrin is not used as a carbohydrate source either.
Unlike other organic formulas, Jovie Goat Organic is enriched with both DHA and AA (also known as ARA). DHA and AA are polyunsaturated fats, naturally found in human milk. Both fatty acids can be formed in the body from other dietary fatty acids, but it has been shown that addition of DHA is beneficial for the normal growth and development of a babies' brain, nural and eye development.
Jovie enjoys to do a little extra to give baby's the best. So, we had a good look at the ingredients that are really beneficial and at the possibilities of adding them to our organic infant formula. The result: Hello, Happy Baby!
GOS is an infant formula ingredient that is widely appreciated for its prebiotic properties. GOS is an example of an oligosaccharide. These oligosaccharides cannot be digested by the body, but are nutritious for the good bacteria in your gut.
Palm oil is not being used in Jovie Goat for several reasons. One is the environmental damage the winning of palm oil causes in tropical regions. An other reason is that an important fatty acid in palm oil does not have the optimal structure. Products which do not have palm oil, ór have this fatty acid in the optimal composition by eg using the natural milk fat, may cause less discomfort for your baby.
Maltodextrin is not being used in Jovie Goat. Maltodextrin is a carbohydrate source which can be used in formula's to replace the (more expensive) lactose. In Jovie products for baby's we always choose for lactose (organic lactose, to be precise) because this is also the carbohydrate found in mothers' milk.
Research shows that protein levels should be on the lower side in infant formula. However, the building blocks of the protein, 20 different amino acids, should all be present in adequate amounts. To boost the presence of specific amino acids, these are added to the infant formula.
Jovie Goat contains allergens; goat milk and lactose have 'milk' as an allergen and DHA 'fish'.
