Arachidonzuur - AA

Arachi-what?

Galacto-oligosaccharides, Arachidonic acid and docosahexaenoic acid?

Yep, again ingredients with ridiculously difficult names: Galacto-oligosaccharides, Arachidonic acid and docosahexaenoic acid.

GOS, AA and DHA; that sounds much easier, right?

GOS is a dietary fiber that is broken down by the bacteria in your baby's intestines. It is added to many infant formulas worldwide. Jovie formula is of course enriched with an organic GOS fibre.

You've probably seen "AA" on a label, or the written words: arachidonic acid. Jovie formula is also enriched with AA (arachidonic acid). This is a unique enrichment in an organic formula. AA is an unsaturated omega-6 fatty acid, and is added* to Jovie organic follow-on milk together with DHA (also known as docosahexaenoic acid, an unsaturated omega-3 fatty acid). Its intake contributes to the visual development and is good for your baby's brain. When your little one starts eating solid food, for example, eggs and oily fish, such as salmon are a source of these fatty acids.

Ask your nutritionist for advice if you want to know more about this.

* As required by legislation governing all infant formulas.
